App update arrives just ahead of iPad 2 launch
Flipboard has released an update to its popular iPad app, adding Instagram support just days ahead of the iPad 2 launch. Users can now access Instagram images alongside content from other social networking sites, while the search function has been revamped to automatically search across the entire range of supported services and blogs.
Version 1.2 also brings speed improvements, with content loading claimed to work twice as fast as the previous release. Other tweaks include Flipboard's own 'featured sections,' along with minor changes to Google Reader integration.
Flipboard 1.2 is now available as a free download on the App Store.

So a great iPad app now supports streams from an app where crappy images are run through generic filters in hopes of someone, somewhere deeming the results as "art?" Kudos for the handshakes with social media Instagram provides, and we all know image quality is limited by Apple's SDK, but I'm not a fan of the app in it's current incarnation.
