Site claims iPhone 5 connector, says 4-inch iPhone fake

Argues for model with 'sliding cover'

A Taiwanese site is claiming to have a photo of a prototype 30-pin dock connector meant for the iPhone 5. The part is labeled "821-1300-02 HF/c1," and includes the internal ribbon cable used to bridge an iPhone's connector port with the rest of the hardware. There is no supporting evidence to show relation to a future iPhone, although an iPhone 5 would be months away from production given Apple's normal June/July shipping timeframe.

tw.apple.pro also charges that an alleged iPhone 5 panel with room for a four-inch display is fake. The site further insists that Apple is working on an iPhone with a "sliding cover," using a "frame shape" similar to the iPhone 4 but "slightly thicker." In the past the site has hinted that three iPhone prototypes were in existence, including one with a slide-out keyboard.

Apple is unlikely to include a physical keyboard with an upcoming iPhone. The company has been strongly resistant to the concept, and in fact sometimes promoted the advantages of an adaptable, touchscreen-only interface.

Another alleged prospect is a 3D display. This would not be implemented in the iPhone 5, says apple.pro, but rather in some subsequent model.
