New localizations include Chinese, French, German
Autodesk has updated its flagship iOS app, Autodesk WS, bringing it to v1.2. The CAD tool has gained several critical upgrades, including layouts and the ability to cut, copy and paste text or objects. A feature called Snap Preview magnifies an area to help with selections or drawing.
The app has also gained Inventor DWG support, and an improved Free Line tool in which people can set the line width for sketches, symbols or text. A separate tweak ensures that if a drawing was created in inches or feet, the measurement system should persist throughout the app's various modes. Language options have been expanded beyond English to include Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish.
The app is a free download, and a universal title compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. iOS 3.0 or later is required. It is meant to be used in tandem with an AutoDesk WS online account.
