Notes adds widescreen view, Organizer gets CardDAV

Chronos has launched two new updates this week, releasing v9.0 for both SOHO Notes and SOHO Organizer. SOHO Notes is a note-taking app that allows the user to capture, store and share digital images, voice recordings, videos, web archives and PDFs. Version 9.0 adds a widescreen view that presents the notes in a cascading column style, allowing users to quickly browse notes without having to open them.

Notes also adds Tag Explorer, a feature which quickly navigates large stacks of notes for a specific item or related set of notes. Users select certain tags, generating instant results limited to the selected tag. Repeating the process with a number of tags quickly eliminates all but what the user needs. Bookmark references called Bookmarklets are new, allowing one-click adding of bookmarks or web pages. Geo-Location support and redesigned accounts are also onboard.

SOHO Organizer tracks calendars, journals, contacts and tasks. CardDAV, offline CardDAV and CalDAV support allows for sharing address books and syncing with supported servers. Version 9.0 adds one-step MobileMe calendar set-up, simply by signing into MobileMe inside SOHO Organizer. Smart groups for hierarchical contacts are new, as are calendar groups, automatic postal code look-ups, event archives and a comprehensive duplicate checker.

Both titles require Mac OS X 10.5.8 or higher. SOHO Organizer is $100 for a single-user license or $180 for a family pack, while SOHO Notes costs $40 for a single user or $70 for a family pack.
