Sony makes neon-hued VAIO CA, CB official

updated 08:55 am EST, Tue February 22, 2011

Sony VAIO CA and CB take neon concept real

Sony on Tuesday took the second of its notebook concepts into reality on Tuesday by launching the VAIO CA and CB. The line comes in a wrap-around translucent plastic and has the option of rare neon orange and green hues that create a "glow" around the edges and the trackpad; black, white and (in Europe) pink are also available. TV integration is a cornerstone as they both have the option of WiDi 2.0 wireless video streaming to an adapter as well as Remote Keyboard to steer menus and the keyboard on a Bravia TV, Blu-ray player or PS3.

The systems are all driven by Core i5 processors and have the option of a Radeon HD 6630M that can provide fast mid-range graphics with live switching to Intel video to save power. Blu-ray is also an option on the systems, whose primary split gives a 14-inch screen to the CA and a 15.5-inch display to the CB.

Pre-orders start for the new notebooks on March 13, when the entry level will cost $880.
