Apple sets sights on new Los Angeles, Anchorage stores

First Alaskan store in development

News has emerged of two upcoming US Apple Stores. The first is another within the general Los Angeles area, but specifically located 35 miles north in the Valencia Town Center shopping mall. The center is reported to have undergone a $140 million renovation in 2010, creating 40 new open-air spaces. Construction and hiring timetables are believed to point to Apple opening the outlet by mid-September.

Also expected to arrive by September is a store in Anchorage, Alaska, for which job listings have already been posted. The shop will be Apple's first in the state, and a tip claims that it should be situated inside a former Eddie Bauer on the second level of the Fifth Avenue Mall. In any case it will also be the northernmost Apple Store ever built, roughly 320 miles away from the Arctic Circle.
