Kyocera Echo tipped for Spritn event

(Update: dual screens) Sprint's event this evening could give unusual attention to a Kyocera phone, tipsters said in the morning. Badged as the Echo, few details were available, but it would run Android. Bloomberg didn't say if the phone would be the only device at the show, which is considered important enough for both Sprint CEO Dan Hesse and illusionist David Blaine to appear.

Update: an extra leak has suggested it would be a dual-screen phone with a pivoting hinge that could hide one dislay under the other. Apps could run separately on each screen, and users could drag elements from one screen to another.

The event may also include the LG Optimus 3D and could be the more important of the two launches by preempting LG's own at Mobile World Congress next week.

Kyocera already has thrree phones on Sprint, starting with the rugged but budget Taho clamshell, the Innuendo basic messaging phone and the Sanyo-badged Zio, its only Android phone on the network. The Echo could target the higher end as many of these devices already cover the budget end.
