New MacBook Pros appear in Best Buy inventory systems

updated 05:40 pm EST, Mon February 7, 2011

Entries propose March 11th ship date

"Dummy" listings for new MacBook Pros have begun arriving in Best Buy inventory systems, a source says. An example depicted in photos mentions a $1,199 pricetag, currently the cost of a base 13-inch Pro. Perhaps more significant is the alleged in-stock date, quoted as March 11th.

The entry may conflict with a report suggesting that new Pros will debut this month, possibly as soon as February 9th. Computers could be announced in February and ship in March, however; alternately, Best Buy may simply be wrong. As the inventory listings are stand-ins, the retailer may not yet know precise shipping dates.

    ok.....

The entry may conflict with a report suggesting that new Pros will debut this month, possibly as soon as February 9th. Computers could be announced in February and ship in March, however; alternately, Best Buy may simply be wrong.

So, the summary is "Best Buy could be indicative", "Best Buy could be wrong, other reports are right", or "Best Buy and others are both right".

Wow, it was sure good to get that type of analysis. Otherwise I would have had to figure that out all on my own.
