Sony to bring PS3 controller to PCs

Sony is looking to bring the Move controller from its PlayStation 3 gaming console to PC users, according to a description of a panel at the upcoming Game Developers Conference. An exceprt suggests that Sony "will discuss the new Move Server project" designed "for academics and hobbyists to develop software using the PlayStation Move controller on their own PCs." SCEA's Game Systems team in Developer Support, John McCutchan, will present the talk.

No other details about this are currently known. Competitor Microsoft is also rumored to be working on expanding the applications for its Kinect body-only controller interface as well. There are plans for the spring to allow gamers to control their Hulu, Netflix and Avatar apps in the Xbox 360 console in addition to controlling games themselves. [via GamesIndustry]
