Adobe to upgrade Packager with iPad support

updated 12:50 pm EST, Fri January 28, 2011

May allow more complex gestures

Adobe is planning to release a Packager for iPhone update to support production of iPad apps, a Japanese site claims. The tool allows conversion of Flash projects into a format compatible with iOS as well as App Store rules. As a part of the upgrade, projects should also gain access to touch gestures such as pinching, according to Macotakara.

The rumored changes may help foster development of more iPad apps, particularly digital books and magazines, since projects for the web and other platforms can be more easily converted. Packager was at one point effectively quashed by Apple, as the company temporarily banned iOS apps created with third-party development tools. It ultimately reversed its position under a looming threat of government investigation.

    Well...

If it works anything like their Mac software packages, it will be a complete disaster!
