Universal mount covers range of applications
Vogel's, a company best known for its TV wall mounts, has introduced a universal mount system for iPads. MacNN had a chance to take a closer look at the range of iPad accessories, which stood out from the typical docks and cases that were touted by a number of other companies this week at Macworld Expo in San Francisco.
The 'Ringo' system centers around a simple protective case with a chamfered hole on the back side, which connects to the variety of mounting options. When the cased iPad is pressed against the mounts, it can be placed in landscape or portrait orientation.
Vogel's offers a vehicle kit that includes a universal headrest mount, while a small cylinder can be placed directly onto a wall or other surfaces using adhesive or more permanent mounting options. Users can also buy a three-section hinged mount that screws to a wall and allows the iPad to be pulled out and oriented perpendicular to the wall if necessary. When the tablet isn't attached to one of the more complex mounts, it can be propped up using a table stand.
The system looked robust without being overbuilt and bulky, while the black plastic and silver metal give the accessories a look that would fit in most cars and homes. Vogel's isn't the first company to think of the different mounting options, but it seems to be one of the better offerings that covers most of the possibilities. Prices start at $69 for the case and a simple wall mount, while the other kits range in price.

I'm looking for driver/passenger iPad mounts
I don't/won't be using it for videos or anything like that. I use it for a radio/audio book and GPS and that's it. So far I'm not seeing anything very good for my 2007 Prius.
