Gains Retina Display support, multitasking
Adobe today updated its free iOS app for photo manipulation, Photoshop Express, to version 1.5 -- bringing support for Retina Display resolution, a faster and more streamlined workflow for photo capture and editing, and multitasking support under iOS 4.2, which it now requires. The universal app, which works with both iPad and the iPhone and iPod Touch devices, is a companion to the online Photoshop.com service, which allows photo editing, hosting and sharing (up to 2GB of photos or videos).
The program allows users to crop, rotate, straighten or flip pictures, and sports a key set of effects such as vignette blurring, antiquing and B&W effects, custom borders, sharpening or soft focus filters, and control over exposure, saturation, contrast and tint. Creations can be downloaded to local hard drives, saved on Photoshop.com's hosting, shared with social networks, used to create slideshows and more. The service is available to both computers (through a web browser) or mobile devices (using the app).
