Portland outlet would have daylight, more room
Apple is once again hiring for a future retail outlet in Reading, England, a report says. Job listings were originally posted nearly four years ago, but then vanished. In particular Apple is now hiring for a store at The Oracle, a shopping center by Kennet River which opened in 1999. The outlet could be one of as little as two stores opening in the UK in 2011, the other being situated in Edinburgh, Scotland.
In the United States, an Apple scouting team is said to be looking at a space at the corner of 5th Avenue and Yamhill in Portland, Oregon. The building is two stories tall, and was formerly a Saks Fifth Avenue until the chain departed last April. It could potentially replace the city's existing Apple Store, a relatively small one located in the basement of the Pioneer Place mall. The shop is described as "overworked," for instance being the only Apple Store in the downtown area. Permit and construction schedules could allow the new storefront to open by the end of the year.

Portland needs a bigger Apple
The Pioneer Place Apple Store is tiny and always jammed - this town would certainly support a much larger store with ease!
