Apple seeds first Mac OS X 10.6.7 build to developers

updated 05:10 pm EST, Thu January 20, 2011

Hot on heels of 10.6.6

Apple is already seeding the first beta of Mac OS X 10.6.7 to developers, reports say. Listed as build 10J842, the delta update measures 338.6MB, while the combo version is 992.9MB. Little else is known about the update so far except that several testing focus areas are listed. These include AirPort, Bonjour, SMB and the operating system's graphics drivers.

The previous Snow Leopard update, v10.6.6, was only released on January 6th, making v10.6.7 a relatively fast turnaround. The v10.6.6 update was, however, almost exclusively oriented towards introducing the Mac App Store, to the extent of fixing just two bugs and one security vulnerability. When its successor might be finished is uncertain, but Apple typically runs through several weeks of betas before pushing a Mac OS X update to the public.

Hope to some higher power that they fix the AirportXtreme internet disconnect issue. I am about to throw that freaking thing through a wall.

I've been looking for a fix for the slow SMB browsing for the last 6 revisions, PLEASE let this release finally fix the issue that no one seems to have a solution for.
