Apple COO highlights platform success
Apple's iOS software has reportedly reached 32 million devices in the recent quarter, according to comments from COO Tim Cook. The number expands past 160 million devices when considering every iPad, iPhone and iPod touch manufactured to date. The executive also criticized the competition by highlighting the consistency of iOS across Apple's range of devices.
"We think our integrated approach is better for the end user, rather than all the systems that make the end user a systems integrator," Cook added.
The iOS App Store is quickly approaching 10 billion downloads, just two years after surpassing 500 million downloads in January 2009. The company will award a $10,000 iTunes gift card to the individual who lands the 10 billionth app download.

Wow
This is the first time Apple has given us an idea of the amount of iPod Touches they're selling. 32M iOS devices, minus 16.24M iPhones and 7.33M iPads equals 8.43M iPod Touches, or 42.7% of the 19.74M iPods sold.
