Samsung S5830 names revealed, due out at MWC?

The Samsung S5830 revealed in a leak last week will carry a number of names depending on the market it's launched in, MXPhone said. Other than the Mini it was called last week, the new names for the Galaxy S handset include Galaxy Ace and Galaxy Cooper. While the former will most likely be sold in Thailand, the latter is reportedly earmarked for the Indian market.

At the same time, more complete specs for the device were revealed. The 3.5-inch touchscreen display's 480x320 resolution is confirmed, and the Android 2.2 OS will be overlaid with Samsung's Touch Wiz 3.0 interface. The device will support the 900 and 2,100MHz HSDPA bands, as well as 850, 900, 1,800 and 1,900MHz EDGE and GPRS bands.

Features will include Wi-Fi, assisted GPS, DLNA support, and an FM radio with RDS. Processing power will come from an 800MHz CPU, and a five-megapixel camera with LED flash is onboard. Storage space comes from 150MB of internal memory and a 2GB microSD memory card, while a 1,350mAh battery is present.

An official debut of the handset is expected to come at the MWC show in February. In Thailand, the handset may cost the equivalent of $357 without any carrier subsidies. [via UnwiredView]
