updated 04:50 am EST, Mon January 17, 2011

R300 also aimed at fine artists

Epson has introduced the Stylus Photo R3000, a high-end printer for photographers and fine artists. It delivers gallery-quality black-and-white output and color prints. It supports new Epson high-capacity individual ink cartridges and a wide range of paper types and sizes. Connectivity is provided by way of Ethernet and Wi-Fi 802.11n.

The Stylus Photo R3000 also users Epson's proprietary UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta ink technology and a sophisticated micro-piezo print head. The machine will produce prints on a wide variety of glossy, matte and fine art papers up to 13-inches wide using advanced media handling capabilities. As it is aimed at professionals and serious enthusiasts, it is capable of delivering a wide color gamut with more dramatic blues and violets with smooth color transitions and improved highlight and shadow detail.

The Epson Stylus Photo R3000 will be available in March for a suggested retail price of $849.
