Former movie theatre to get overhaul
Apple has settled on a place to build a Berlin Apple Store, local sources are quoted as saying. The location has been narrowed down to the Kurfürstendamm, in the western half of the city. Specifically Apple is said to have secured a former movie theatre across from the Hard Rock Cafe, giving it access to 5,000 square feet of indoor space.
Renovation is expected to begin as soon as Apple can get planning permissions from local government. The Kurfürstendamm outlet should be the first in Berlin; it should also be the fifth in Germany, despite the city being the country's capital. Other Apple Stores can be found in Hamburg, Frankfurt, Oberhausen and Munich.
