Adds Smart Paste and a Quick Assist helper

Syncro Soft ahve updated their Oxygen XML editor and authoring tool to v12.1, bringing a new "smart paste" function that automatically converts content from Office-style suites to DITA, DocBook or TEI formats, introducing a new Quick Assist feature and updating the integrated Subversion client and XML diff and merge tools to match the capabilities found in their companion products, Syncro SVN Client v6.1 and Oxygen XML Diff v3 among other improvements.

Oxygen is a full-featured visual, CSS-driving XML editor and development environment that supports main document frameworks like DITA and XHTML but includes support for all XML Schema languages, such as WSDL analyzer, XML Databases and more. The new version improves XML authoring in areas like reference management, change tracking and CSS rendering support, and now allows feedback from partners that integrate Oxygen with CMSs or other applications.

A new Quick Assist helper provides searching and refactoring assistance. The XSLT and XQuery debuggers as well as the Relax NG scheme editor have also been improved. The SVN client now delivers better information in the Working Copy view and improves performance of SVN tasks and compare operations. The XML Diff engine now features enhanced diff algorithms that can handle larger numbers of differences.

Other minor tweaks and issues have been addressed as well, such as an automatic refresh of included content, support for auto margins, and a content-completion assistant window is available when editing regular expressions in the Find/Replace dialog. A complete list of changes can be found on the Syncro Soft website.

The two components of Oxygen -- the editor and the development environment -- are available separately. Oxygen XML Editor with XLST Debugger offers a single-seat Professional license for $349 and a multi-seat Enterprise license for $449. Academic and personal licenses cost $64. The Oxygen XML Author program sells for either $199 (Professional) or $269 (Enterprise). Licenses can be used on either the Mac or Windows version. Upgrades from previous versions are approximately half the cost of new licenses. A free 30-day trial is also available.
