Includes more German, Italian, American shops
A bevy of new Apple Stores are in the works for 2011, a report says. At least several of these are forecast to open in Italy by the middle of the year, including one in Bologna, a previously unexpected outlet in Florence, and a second Milan location. Possible addresses for the Milan and Florence stores remain unknown.
Within France a Strasbourg store is said to be in development, although the fate of a Lyon store is a mystery, as it was originally predicted to launch in September. A Dresden, Germany store is said to be on track for May, while new Spanish stores including a first in Valencia and a second in Barcelona are considered certain. Other rumored European stores include ones in Edinburgh, Scotland and Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
At home in the US Apple is said to be working on new Berkeley, Seattle, Brooklyn and Houston locations, as well as one in Murray, Utah, within the Salt Lake City area. Except for Italy and Germany, most of the new stores are expected to open late in the year, the pace reaching a crescendo in September and tailing off by the end of November. Apple has traditionally preferred to have new stores in place before the height of the Christmas shopping season.

Remarkable
It is remarkable that, for tax purposes and greenbacks, Apple happily resides in Cork, Ireland and yet not a single genuine Apple Store exists in this virescent republic.
