Polaroid shows GL10 Zink portable printer at CES

Similar in concept and execution to its PoGo camera, Polaroid has brought out a brand new portable printer, the GL10. It uses Zink paper and technology to print 3- by 4-inch prints. Zink uses thermal technology to bring out the colors in the special paper, which are protected by smudge-proof, water-resistant coatings.

The device will print photos from any camera -- not just Polaroid's own -- connected either using a USB cable or via Bluetooth using PictBridge technology. It takes about 40 seconds to create each print. Also, compared to the PoGo camera, the prints are slightly larger than the 2- by 3-inch prints.

It will cost $150 when it ships in the spring. The battery will last long enough to print 40 photos, or four packets of the 10-piece Zink blanks.

    Hey, that's great.

Now where's the PIC1000 and instant film they announced at CES last year?
