Two-lens, 2-CMOS camcorder records in stereo

JVC announced two new HD 3D camcorders, including the GS-TD1, which it claims is the world's first full HD 3D camcorder for the consumer market. The GS-TD1 records with two lenses and two 3.32-megapixel CMOS sensors, each at 1920x1080i resolution. The camcorder can also record in 3D side-by-side format in both 3D and conventional 2D video. The GS-TD1 has 3D optical 5x zoom, automatic stabilization system to give depth to 3D images, and 3D stereo sound.

The camera operates in the same manner as conventional camcorders, with an 3.5in 3D touch panel LCD monitor that does not require 3D glasses.

JVC also announced the HD Everio GZ-HM960, a 3D camcorder that can process 2D footage into 3D. Output can be viewed without glasses on either the camera's 3.5-inch 3D LCD monitor, or an external 3D television.

Both camcorders come with Windows-compatible software for full managing editing and sharing videos. The software also enables 3D video from the GS-TD1 to be shared on YouTube.

JVC says the GS-TD1 Full HD 3D camcorder will be available in March for $2,000. The HD Everio GZ-HM960 will be available in February for $950.

Anyone knows what sensor size they use?

I've found out that GZ-HM960 has a 1/2.3” sensor. If GS-TD1 has 1/2.3” sensors, I will get one as soon as it's available.
