Store-n-Go offers USB3 and Firewire 800 ports
Verbatim has introduced two brand-new portable external hard drives that utilize the USB3 connector, including a model specifically for Mac users. The Titan XS SuperSpeed USB 3 is touted as the smallest such hard drive available, while the Store 'n' Go SuperSpeed USB3/FW800 caters to the Mac market with the addition of a Firewire 800 connector and being pre-formatted for Macs (a USB2-only version of the drive is also available).
The Titan XS, despite its small size, is a 500GB drive housed in a shock-resistant rubber enclosure, and because it is using USB3 features speeds up to 10 times faster than USB2, though it is backward-compatible. The drive includes Nero's BackItUp&Burn software for Windows customers.
The Store 'n' Go USB3/FW800 also houses a 500GB drive and is compatible with all Macs that have a USB2 or FW800 port. The unit is already formatted HFS+ and is available in black with a minimalist design. US pricing on the two drives has not yet been announced, but the Store 'n' Go USB3/FW800 is currently on sale in Europe for about $120.
