Motorola brings Droid Bionic and Cliq 2 to mix

Motorola at its CES event tonight unveiled three new devices beyond the Atrix 4G it showed this morning. The Bionic is Motorola's first LTE phone and can provide data up to 10 times faster than 3G hardware on at least Verizon's network. It runs the same NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core chip as the Atrix 4G and includes its front camera for video chat, though it trades some of the RAM (down to a regular 512MB) for a larger 4.3-inch screen.

A native HDMI output lets it play video at a native 1080p, including in a mirror mode that will play both on the phone and on the TV. Motorola uses its Blur interface on top of Android 2.2 but adds Quickoffice to turn it into an office tool.

The Cliq 2 in turn is a successor to one of the very first Motorola Android phones and bumps up to a much more modern 1GHz processor as well as a "honeycomb" keyboard designed to shorten the distance between keys without affecting typing. A larger 3.7-inch display and a five megapixel camera are also major upgrades.

Destined first for T-Mobile, the device supports both Wi-Fi calling and 3G hotspots.

The Bionic is due in the early spring for Verizon, but it hasn't received a price. Motorola delivers the Cliq 2 on January 19 for an unspecified amount.
