Striking design unveiled ahead of CES 2011

Samsung has previewed its new 9 Series LED-backlit 3DTV ahead of its formal unveiling at CES 2011. What sets the TV apart from most other TVs on the market is its striking asymmetric design. With hints of Apple's black and silver color schemes, the new design features a sculptured stand that emerges fluidly from its base on the right side with the screen appearing to be suspended in mid-air.

Samsung's current press release focuses on the design technology required to create the new TV rather than its technical specs. The Korean into English translation suggests that Samsung has applied a proprietary double injection method, which it calls Touch of Color (ToC) to create the black screen surround.

As a guide as to what to expect from the latest 9 Series TV, the current 9 Series TV is 0.3-inches thin and supports 1080p at 240Hz. It also incorporates built-in Wi-Fi with Internet-apps support and a touch-screen remote that can show live TV via Wi-Fi. [via 3D-Display-info]
