Rechargable Bluetooth speakers add flexibility

iHome announced that it will demo several new products in its line of audio accessories for the iPad at CES. The iDM70 Sound Sleeve integrates its own rechargable lithium-ion battery into a into a premium iPad case with NXT flat-panel speakers. As the name implies, the iDM70 includes a faux leather case with a protective inner silicone inner sleeve that has cutouts for headphone jack, dock connector, on/off and volume controls. The Sound Sleeve also functions as a six-position stand for the iPad.

iHome also unveiled two sets of rechargable Bluetooth speakers, the iDM15 and iDM12. Both are powered by their own internal lithium-ion battery, rechargable from any USB power source. The iDM15, a CES2011 Innovations Honoree, comes with a travel case that becomes a stand for the iPad when the speakers are in use. The iDM15 also has a 3.5mm headphone jack to connect to media players. The iDM15 can function as a speakerphone when used with a paired Bluetooth phone.

The iDM12 is a micro sound bar that measures 7.2x2.3x2.3in and weighs less than six ounces. Its detachable magnetic case can function as an iPad stand. The iDM12 has two active speakers plus passive radiator, and uses SRS TruBass circuitry.

The iDM70 premium case, iDM15 Rechargable Bluetooth Speakers, and iDM Rechargable Bluetooth Micro Sound Bar will be available later in 2011. iHome has not announced pricing.
