Apple adds 15 new retail-oriented job positions

updated 01:50 pm EST, Thu December 30, 2010

Work concentrated in adminsitrative affairs

Apple has added some 15 new job titles related to its retail chain, a report notes. All of these are based on the administrative side of the company, such as several tech-themed positions and a Cinematographer/Editor. Many are directed at hiring and staffing issues, such as Market Recruiter, HR Project Coordinator, Senior Retail HR Administrator, and Recruiting Leader -- Business.

The jobs join some 297 other administrative positions Apple has listed during the last four years. The company has also meanwhile announced the 2011 incarnation of the Apple Store Leader Program, in which selected college graduates are rotated through each job at an Apple Store while being mentored by a more experienced worker. The eventual goal is to produce someone capable of taking on a retail leadership position.

The rotation process lasts two years. Candidates must generally have a 3.0 or better grade point average, and apply before March 14th. Campus interviews will take place in January and February. Final selections will be made in April, putting people to work in the fall.

    Hopefully

Hopefully they're focused on hiring some people that actually know what the h*** a Mac is and what makes Apple special. I can't stand going into the Winnipeg Apple store and talking to the staff there, some are nice but it seems I never fail to run into a total tool or douche bag. I tried to get an iPhone 4 for a friend there (only place to get em these days) only to have some douche bag tell me that they'd "Satisfied all their appointments for the day." I think what he meant to say is, "We're out of stock." But my poor friend just walked away confused as all get out.

I'm sorry but if you can't talk to customers in a clear and respectful manner when we want to buy your products, I'm going to do my best to find what I need at BestBuy or somewhere else.
