New v2 increases productivity, now on sale
QuickOffice Connect for iPad has been updated to version 2, bringing as its major feature the ability to edit PowerPoint (2003) files, extensive text formatting tools, a built-in "laser" pointer for presenting, improved support for external keyboards, and the ability to show presentation on an external monitor or projector. The software, normally $25, is on sale during the holidays for $15, a savings of 40 percent.
QuickOffice is a leading suite for working with Microsoft Office documents (Top Business App for iPad, iTunes 2010 Rewind), able to import and export them to cloud services such as MobileMe, Dropbox, Google Docs, Box, Huddle and Sugarsync -- the latter two recent additions. Users can also create and edit Word documents and Excel spreadsheets. Files can be transferred via cloud, e-mail, or by Wi-Fi or USB via iTunes.
The suite's QuickWord allows editing in page-layout mode, features a scroll bar to preview page thumbnails or quickly jump to any page, the ability to edit bulleted and numbered lists and more. Quicksheet offers a calculation engine with over 125 built-in functions, a formula builder, advanced Excel features and copying/pasting of cells, columns, rows, ranges and formulas with dynamic updating along with extensive text formatting.
QuickOffice Connect for iPad requires iOS 3.2 or later (supports multitasking under iOS 4.2) and works with Word and Excel documents from Microsoft Office 97-2008 (both doc/xls and docx/xlsx). The program works in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.
