Calendar alerts now available on MobileMe

updated 08:05 pm EST, Thu December 23, 2010

Alerts can be shown in Safari as well as devices

A small holiday present arrived today for MobileMe members as Apple has included the ability to set and edit alerts directly from within the web Calendar app.

Alerts for events created on the MobileMe Calendar web app will automatically display on iOS devices and computers as normal, but users can also receive the alerts in a browser -- even if they are viewing a different web page -- as long as the Calendar web application is opened in a browser window or tab at the same time.

    Didn't expect this!

For the first time yesterday, I entered an appointment in my calendar book on my iPad, and the next day, I found it in iCal on my iMac - who knew? VERY cool! Besides that it sent out an email invitation to the friend I was meeting.
