Nokia N900 hacked to run on Android 2.3

Nokia's N900 flagship smartphone was hacked by the NITDroid group to run Android 2.3, according to HDBlog. While not everything is fully working, the hacked handset can access cellular data, with sound and Wi-Fi functional. A photo of the hacked device, embedded below, was posted on Twitter as well.

The main person responsible for the hack is Alexey Roslyakov, who also goes by the name DrunkDebugger on Twitter, and he indicated a more stable hack will arrive before year's end.

The N900 normally runs on Maemo 5, a Linux-based OS that allows for PC-like multitasking and lets it run "dozens" of app windows simultaneously and provides a simple, large dashboard for switching and closing apps. [via AndroidCommunity]
