Latest carrier to enable the payment option
Google has announced that AT&T will finally support carrier billing for Android Market purchases. The change will eliminate the need for AT&T subscribers to manually enter their credit card information to buy apps using the standard Google Checkout process, as charges can be automatically added to the monthly cellular bill.
AT&T is the latest company to enable carrier billing on Android handsets, following a similar move by T-Mobile late last year. Google made another push for carrier billing during the summer, however some carriers have been slow to integrate the new capabilities.
The feature is being gradually rolled out to all Android users on AT&T's network via an update, which also adds a 15-minute refund window, new Market categories, and a larger size limit for apps.
