TuneLink Auto BT streamer now out for Android devices

updated 05:15 pm EST, Tue December 21, 2010

TuneLink Auto soon shipping for Android handsets

New Potato Technologies has followed up its TuneLink Auto Bluetooth in-vehicle streaming device for iOS devices with a version for Android smartphones. Just like the previous device, this one uses a Bluetooth transceiver and an FM transmitter for wireless streaming of audio from an Android device to a vehicle's sound system. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack for a direct connection, along with a USB charging port.

Pairing the phone with the TuneLink requires a free app from Android Market, which also makes the interface process cleaner for sorting through tracks and selecting the FM stations for the FM transmitter. TuneLink also lets users share its Bluetooth connection with other compatible devices. New Potato's Humbuster noise elimination theoretically prevents any engine or electrical noise from interfering with its connection.

TuneLink is compatible with all Android-powered devices that have A2DP Bluetooth built-in. The accessory arrives in mid-January for $100.
