Supports video out
Music video service Vevo has released an official iPad app, Vevo HD. Complementing an existing iPhone title, the app mostly provides easier access to Vevo's library of over 25,000 videos. iPad clips are displayed in a larger resolution, and can be watched on a TV using a compatible output cable.
Users can also stream some live events, follow bands' tour dates and Twitter posts, and mark calendars with notifications for events and video debuts. Sales are another major focus of the app; people can buy tickets to local concerts, or the songs featured in each video via the iTunes Store.
Some features are specific to Vevo HD, particularly Music Maps, which depicts which videos have been watched in different regions. The app is a free download, but supported by advertising. 3G and Wi-Fi connections can be used, though quality is diminished over the former.
