Chumby comes to Android 2.2 phones thanks to app

updated 05:55 pm EST, Thu December 16, 2010

Chumby app for Android 2.2 phones now out

Chumby, the Linux-based widget platform, reached Android phones today. The release marks the first time users can take the Chumby experience outside of a dedicated device. Users can access the same streaming Internet radio, games, web apps and the alarm clock function of Chumby.

Unlike the original Chumby One device (pictured), users can add and delete web apps in the app without the need for a computer. While the app doesn't offer much more than the Android OS does already, it can be made to launch automatically to act like the original concept's bedside companion.

The app needs at least Android 2.2 and costs $5 on Android Market. [via CNET]

    Chumby One device (pictured)...

the only thing I see is an ad for some overpriced-undersized Korean IPad knockoff (Galaxy Tab). Perhaps you forgot to include the picture.
