CNN iPad app supports live video, offline reading

updated 11:55 am EST, Tue December 14, 2010

Live content limited to major events

CNN has released an official iPad app via the App Store. The title presents the news network's content in a more convenient interface, split into sections for top stories, featured stories and video. Users can switch between headline and slideshow views.

A notable difference over some other iPad news apps is the ability to watch live video streams, although these are limited to breaking headlines and other major events. Users can also post and read comments, and save stories for offline viewing. The app is a free download, and works with any iteration of the iPad firmware.
