MotoPad specs and photo show up

Motorola's upcoming Android 3.0 tablet, possibly called the MotoPad, has had its specs leak today through a forum post this week in Taiwan. Along with including a photo to show the multi-pane interface, the poster said it would have a high-resolution 1280x800 screen and backed the dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 that would drive it. Also promised were versions for multiple carriers: it would have 3G versions for both UMTS (HSPA) and CDMA (EVDO) networks as well as 4G using LTE, alluding to a Verizon debut but not an exclusive.

Only some other details were forthcoming, but it would have both five-megapixel back and front two-megapixel cameras, a gyroscope for more advanced motion sensing and 32GB of built-in storage. Both seven- and ten-inch versions would come at some point, the tester said, but he didn't say which one he tried or which one would come first.

The design is lightweight, he said, addressing a complaint with the iPad.

The slate is widely expected to show at Motorola's CES event on January 5, although when it might reach the public isn't as clear. Verizon will likely want to get a 4G version to promote its new network. [via Engadget]
