Abelton releases new Partner Instruments
Kobo has released an update for its Kobo iPad eReading application featuring new social functions, while Abelton has launched three new Partner Instruments for Live
Kobo has announced the launch of Reading Life, a new services for its iPad eReading application. Users can track their personal reading history, check-in with characters and places inside books, and earn achievements for reading. An activity panel shows a timeline of reading activity, allowing users to see how many books have been read, the number of pages turned, and more. As users read more books, the software will also create a personal book cover that is a mosaic of everything that has been read. The Kobo applications is available as a free download in the App Store.
Ableton releases three new Partner Instruments
Three new Partner Instruments have been released by Ableton, Novachord, MachineKits, and Tubular Bells. Novachord is a collection of presents based on sampled sounds from the Novachord synthesizer, while MachineKits is a library of drum machines programmed specifically for Abelton Live. Alternatively, Tubular Bells is a collection of bell presets that have been sampled form a vintage instrument and transformed into ambient, rhythmic, and synthetic sounds. Abelton is also offering a $10 discount on each product until December 19th. This brings prices down to $70, $30, and $50, respectively.
