Software uses procedural design technology

e-on and Procedural have launched CityEngine Vue, bringing 3D city modeling tools to Vue professionals. The software can quickly generate large cities and integrate buildings or street models into into Vue landscapes. CityEngine Vue uses procedural technology, sidestepping manual design, texturing and modeling of buildings and streets, preparing the designs for rendering in Vue 3D environments.

CityEngine Vue offers direct format export to all Vue versions. It allows designers to work through different city designs with instant feedback, and can copy real cities using data from OpenStreetMap.org. It ships with manuals, tutorials and learning videos, and free downloadable cities are also available to users.

The software runs on Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6, requiring a 64-bit Intel processor. CityEngine Vue costs $300.
