MacLocks announces iPad Lock case and cable combo

Case locks when security cable is applied

MacLocks has announced the new iPad Lock security case and cable for the iPad. While most notebooks and many portable hard drives provide security slots for attaching cable locks, securing the item in public or when unattended for stretches of time, iPads lack any form of security slot. MacLocks has developed a secure case with a built-in security slot -- users can then attach a cable to the case.

When a cable lock is applied to the case, it cannot be removed from the iPad, securing the case and locking it to the cable at the same time. With the cable wrapped around a non-movable, stationary object, the iPad is secure. The case uses clear plastic and features a kickstand for media viewing.

The new case is available for pre-order in two versions. The case is available on its own, with no cable lock, for $40, while a case and cable lock combo is $65.

This lock is creative, I think that's the only thing my awesome ZooGue Case doesn't do.
