Devs get cut and paste for Windows Phone 7

(Update: video proof) Microsoft has reportedly acted on its unofficial promise to bring the basic but popular feature to the handsets. Two developers claimed to have received the update upon connecting their pre-release Samsung Taylor phones to the Zune Windows app.

The copy and paste function works by letting users tap a word to select it, expanding the selection thanks to a pair of arrows and press icons similar to those in Office 2010. No other updates were included in the new software.

Microsoft didn't include copy and paste in time for the launch because it would delay the launch date. A larger update is still expected sometime in January that would address other shortcomings in the OS, including CDMA support. [via BusinessInsider]

    Micros**t innovation strikes again..

    Micros**t innovation:

    Copy Apple's ideas.
    Paste into own products.
    Repeat ad infinitum.

    Totally agree

I was reading Engadget reader comments the other day, and all these apple haters praised Microsoft for getting copy and paste out for only a couple of months. Wow, when you copy everything from others, of course it is much easier. They even have a similar email signature compared to the iPhone.

It seems like Palm is the only one who has original ideas, too bad they didn't sell that well.
