New iPad TV spot hammers on iOS 4.2.1 features

Apple has premiered a new TV commercial for the iPad, iPad is Amazing. The ad is the first to be broadcast following the release of iOS 4.2.1, and takes the unusual step of concentrating on new firmware features, rather than apps. At different points viewers see aspects like multitasking, AirPlay and AirPrint.

Secondary highlights in the spot include built-in apps like Mail and Calendar, and downloadable ones like Pages and TED. iOS 4.2.1 remains central throughout though, likely to ensure that the iPad remains seen as cutting-edge. Apple has been making a major push for holiday sales of the tablet, for instance by increasing international distribution, adding more US vendors, and offering a recent Black Friday discount.

    Good ad. The iPad just keeps on rolling...

    I wish that Apple had produced snappy ads like this for Macs and Mac OS X.
