Apple uses 10,000 song price as incentive
Apple has posted People's Choice shortlists for iTunes Best Album & Song 2010, a voting competition being run by Apple. Some of the eligible albums include Lungs by Florence + The Machine, Sigh No More by Mumford & Sons, and Immersion by Pendulum. A few of the songs on offer include "Pack Up" by Eliza Doolittle, "Telephone" by Lady GaGa, and "Ridin' Solo" by Jason Derülo.
The shortlists are comprised of a mix of bestselling music with a few choices selected by iTunes editors. When voting, people can pick up to three albums and three songs, and leave comments on their decisions. The competition is only open to France, Germany, Italy and the UK however, and it closes December 19th at midnight GMT.
People's Choice results will be announced on December 21st, along with the winners of other categories. To promote voting Apple is offering a random prize of 10,000 iTunes song downloads. Aside from the official website, people can also enter the competition via Facebook or Best Album & Song iPhone and iPad apps.

bah!
Who the h*** cares. One thing for sure is to not let the 'people' vote on such things. You end up with c*** from Lady Gaga winning.
h***, it was by 'people's choice' that Windows got such a large market share.
