Black Friday sees cheap Roku XD, Alienware M11x

Black Friday deals today have included a handful of steep discounts. The Roku XD is dropping 20 percent from its usual price to $64, giving the 1080p playback and 802.11n Wi-Fi of the mid-range at roughly the same price as the base Amazon- and Netflix-capable Roku players. The discount lasts from today through to the end of Monday Pacific time.

Surprisingly, Sony has also slashed the price of the Internet TV Blu-ray Disc Player down to $300 from its original $400. The player is one of Sony's two Google TV devices and includes the same QWERTY-equipped remote and Android-based app platform as the main Internet TV. The discount lasts through November 29.

Alienware is also discounting a handful of systems but has focused its discounts on the M11x. Its 11-inch gaming notebook has dropped $200 to $599 in its base configuration. The system at this price includes the base 1.3GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive but still has the signature GeForce GT 335M that gives it gaming-level graphics.
