Intego updates Mac antispam software for Outlook 2011

updated 04:40 pm EST, Tue November 23, 2010

Other support includes Mail, Entourage

Intego has updated Personal Antispam to v10.6.5. The program previously offered support for Mail and Entourage, and can now operate in conjunction with the newly-launched Outlook for Mac 2011, part of Microsoft's Office 2011 Mac suite. Personal Antispam is sold as part of Intego's Internet Security Barrier X6 suite. The latter also includes Virus Barrier X6, ContentBarrier, Personal Backup and FileGuard.

Personal Antispam sports lexical filtering, attachment filters, and whitelists and blacklists. It also screens URLs, using a database of known spam addresses. The headers and layouts used in HTML messages are monitored to eliminate an additional level of spam.

The software requires Mac OS X 10.5, and runs on Intel or PowerPC processors. Internet Security Barrier X6 costs $80 under a two-Mac license, and $150 for five Macs.
