Etymotic adds custom-tuned MicroPro earbuds
Personal high-end audio gear maker Etymotic Research has added a new range-topping MicroPro Series set of earbuds in the ER[bullet]4PT. Made for audiophiles and sound engineers, each set of the new headphones comes with a channel-matching compliance graph signed off on by an Etymotic engineer who personally tuned the balanced-armature drivers. The adjustment is paired with what the company claims is the highest noise isolation of all its earphones.
The ER[bullet]4PTs can produce up to 122dB of maximum output, and have a frequency response of 20Hz to 16kHz. Epytomic also offers a custom fit option to have the earbuds custom tailored to a given ear shape.
The headphones ship with a 0.25-inch adapter for home audio systems, and an airline adapter is included for international flights that don't accept the 3.5mm jack. Otherwise, Etymotic bundles a selection of eartips, a filter-changing tip, a storage box and a travel pouch.
The in-ear headphones are now available for $299.
