updated 06:30 pm EST, Mon November 22, 2010

Dozens of enhancements, fixes and tweaks

EagleFiler, the all-purpose "digital shoebox" database and snippet manager, has been updated to v1.5 -- bringing dozens of new features, improvements and tweaks. Among the many changes are a new "Merge Message Files" function, a slideshow option, an "Open With" command, a "Quick Entry" hotkey to create a new file from within any application, a new "Move to" operation and direct Finder manipulation of EagleFiler's records.

Among the improvements are changes to the iWork document previews; tag searching; capturing; indexing and searching .eml (standalone email) files; better PDF options; better or added support for Growl, PDFPen, MailTags, OpenMeta, Skim and Dropbox along with other programs; Magic Mouse gesture support; and improved Applescripting. A number of bug fixes are also included. A full list of changes is available on the company's blog.

The program requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later and is priced at $40. The new update is free for owners of previous versions.
