Roku gets Crackle video channel

Roku had a late-breaking but symbolic addition today as its Internet Players got their hundredth Internet content channel. Crackle's content brings free videos, including major movies, independent, TV shows and shorts. All the content should be available soon if not immediately through a firmware update.

The deal comes shortly after Roku added Hulu Plus as well as live NHL games, making it relatively complete compared to most rivals. Roku players range between the $60 HD and the $100 XDS and are normally available online, though the Netgear-branded Roku XD is available at retail for $90.
