Yojimbo 3.0 review focuses on companion app for iPad

New iPad app syncs with Mac, takes data mobile

We have posted a review detailing Yojimbo 3.1 and its companion iPad app. The major upgrade in BareBones' new app is its ability to sync a Mac's Yojimbo database with the new Yojimbo for iPad app, allowing users to carry their Yojimbo collections on the iOS device. The review determines the strengths and weaknesses of the new iPad app, and its value to current Yojimbo users.

Yojimbo allows users to collect individual snippets of information that build up on a computer, then classify the content for easy searching. The app supports saving and encrypting passwords or serial numbers, while also offering a print-to-Yojimbo option in most other applications.

The Mac software requires Mac OS X 10.5.7 or higher. It costs $40 for a single-user license, $70 for a five-user family pack, and $30 for an educational license. Yojimbo for iPad costs $10 at the App Store, however the utility is incompatible with the iPhone or iPod touch.
