Advent Vega tablet ships, sells out immediately

updated 11:25 am EST, Fri November 19, 2010

Advent Vega tablet sells out in hours on Friday

The 10-inch Advent Vega Android tablet that uses NVIDIA's Tegra 2 platform has been sold out within a few hours of being posted up for sale online. Both PC World and Currys webstores carried the new device for $400. PC World maintained that the sellout was due to unprecedented demand, though it's unclear just how many units were up for sale.

PC World expects more stock in larger quantities over the next few days in time for the holiday shopping rush. This includes in-store stock sometime in December.

The tablet is one of the first to ship with NVIDIA's Tegra 2 processor, which enables 1080p HD video support through an HDMI output. It's also one of the least expensive tablets available in the country. Also part of the specs is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, and a bundled 4GB microSD card. [via SlashGear]
