Fixes Flash, pop-up blocking problems
Apple has released two new versions of the Safari web browser. The update for Leopard, Snow Leopard and Windows, v5.0.3, fixes several problems, such as Flash 10.1 material overlapping other content, and pop-up blocking not working reliably. Apple is also promising more accurate Top Hit and Top Sites results, as well as better stability with screen readers and JavaScript-heavy extensions.
A Tiger update, v4.1.3, delivers many of the same fixes. Both patches also closer over two dozen security holes in Safari's underlying WebKit engine, used to render pages. The Tiger download is 29.46MB; the size of the v5.0.3 update varies largely based on operating system.
